SUNROSE® CMC

SUNROSE® is the product name for carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) used by Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. CMC is an anionic, water-soluble polymer derived from cellulose that features unique properties of outstanding adherence, water absorption, and water retention. Moreover, because SUNROSE® is a naturally derived cellulose, it offers slow biodegradability and can also be incinerated after use, making it very environmentally friendly.

Sunrose SLD is a slightly carboxymethylated cellulose; this type of CMC presents properties of both powdered cellulose and CMC. The carboxymehtylated portion of SLD absorbs water and swells (gelling, because of its water-insoluble characteristics). It is effective in the meringue to improve the processability and higher quality.
